Dignified housing for the country
All over Mexico, millions of people lack a dignified place to live in. In 2007, Universidad Panamericana got involved in the Chilean project "A roof for my country." This initiative involves the construction of emergency housing in a short amount of timeIn three days of work, volunteers from UP built houses designed to last at least 10 years in Mexico City’s urban areas.
"Your home is my Project", a similar UP initiative, gathered more than 80 volunteers from different schools and built the cafeteria of a school in Meyalli, in Acautla, Ixtapaluca –one of the poorest areas in Distrito Federal- that will benefit 500 girls and 300 families.
Another group of 45 volunteers started to build 20 dwellings in Axochiapan, in the State of Morelos.
