Procedure for International Academic Exchange

For partner universities and study abroad students.

Steps to apply for international academic exchange:

Step 1

Fill up the application form in the following link https://studentexchange.up.edu.mx where you have to attach the required documents.

Step 2

If you are a study abroad student, nominations are made by yourself. You need to send the application form and the list of required documents to the following email: navila@up.edu.mx

Step 3

The international office at your home university will be notified about your nomination to review it.

Step 4

UP Mexico receives your nomination and sends your acceptance letter to your international office (or to you if you are study abroad) by the end of June or November, depending on the semester of application.

Step 5

You will choose your subjects prior to arrival and depending on the availability of the courses.

Step 6

Be sure to comply with all the migration requirements of your country and of Mexico’s. Most international student are allowed to stay in Mexico up to 180 days without student visa; however, please verify it with the Mexican Consulate in your country.

Documentos Requeridos para Alumnos Extranjeros

(Estos documentos deben enviarse antes de que el alumno llegue a la UP campus Ciudad de México)

 

 

  • School transcript in English of current study program.
  • Programa académico que actualmente cursa.

 

  • A letter of recommendation from an academic advisor with knowledge of the student’s academic abilities.
  • Carta de recomendación de algún profesor o coordinador que conozca las habilidades académicas del alumno.

 

  • Letter of Motives for participating in the exchange program at UP. 
  • Carta de motivos por los que quiere estudiar en la UP Campus Ciudad de México.

 

  • One copy of the student’s current passport. 
  • Copia del pasaporte vigente del estudiante.

 

  • One photograph (Color or B/W)
  • Una fotografía tamaño identificación a color o blanco y negro.

 

Estos documentos deben enviarse antes de que el alumno llegue a la UP campus Ciudad de México.

 

 

UPON ARRIVAL

  • A copy of the policy of the international medical insurance card. (Further information abour insureance, click here
  • Copia del seguro internacional de gastos médicos. (Para resolver dudas sobre el seguro médico, da click aquí).

 

Delivered at global affairs office by the student personally: 

  • Original and a copy of the student visa FM3 (if it is needed).
  • Original y copia de visa de estudiante FM3 (si fuera necesaria).

 

If you have a student visa, upon arrival in Mexico, verify what you must do in order to comply with the migratory regulations. We suggest you to arrive one week prior to the beginning of classes since in Mexico class attendance is considered as a part of the evaluation.

 

Si tienes visa de estudiante, al llegar a México, deberás verificar qué trámites debes realizar para cumplir con las regulaciones migratorias.  Sugerimos llegar la semana previa al inicio del semestre para que no tengas que faltar a tus clases, ya que la asistencia a los cursos es parte de la calificación.
