Mechanical Engineering is a field with a rich and ambitious curriculum which will help you develop as a well prepared professional to cope with all the aspects of several industries: being the automotive industry the most prominent.

 

Also, you will be able to develop new products and processes in emerging industries such as the biomedical and biomechanical, and you will become involved with new technologies such as alternative energies and nanotechnology.

 

This is one of the oldest engineering programs, but it is also one of the most important ones nowadays and in the future.

To educate Mechanical Engineers to have a positive impact in society through the successful practice of their major, with a technical, directive, business and humane perspective which will allow them to integrate technical, scientific, human, economic and social factors; this will result in the construction of a fairer world.

To be leader in the education of excellent engineers through an innovative educational curriculum, a high academic demand, and a clear ethical position based on a dignified and personal treatment.

 

Objective

 

Alumni from the program of Mechanic Engineering will be capable of using new technologies related to advanced processes of manufacturing in the metal-mechanic industry through the evaluation, optimization, innovation, and design of new products, equipment, and processes; all of which will be done with a sense of responsibility in all professional actions with respect to social values and to people’s dignity.

 

Student outcomes

Perfil de ingreso

Candidates for the program of Mechanic Engineering at Universidad Panamericana must be creative, imaginative, and interested in technology and industrial processes linked to the production of all kind of designs (automotive, biomedical, mechanic, etc.).

Also, they must be capable of abstracting and analyzing; they must be enthusiastic about studying the scientific and technological aspects of the mechanic system design, which means that they must be interested in mathematics and physics. 

They must be leaders and have a business vision in engineering activity as well as a high sense of responsibility and commitment to society to improve people’s quality of life.

Perfil de egreso

Graduates from Mechanic Engineering will have a solid base of knowledge; also, they will have an important development of professional competencies which will guarantee an excellent working performance in any industry or area of a company: in their own company or as executives of companies in the technology industry. 

Education in this type of Engineering will allow students to get into High-Tech Research Centers. 

What they learn of basic sciences, engineering sciences and engineering applied emphatically to the areas of materials, design, manufacture, mechanisms, and industrial robotics represents a perfect balance and provides a great analytical ability to treat complex problems of our time. 

Graduates will get experience from participating in projects and competing against national and foreign contenders. This experience and their acquired knowledge will foster their ability to adapt, propose and embark on new projects in the area of manufacturing and design technology.
