Master’s in Legal Science

Master of Legal Science is designed for those lawyers who seek to analyze and contextualize various theoretical and methodological problems with legal implications for alternative solutions. At the same time, they can critically examine various aspects of the history of legal thought and legal philosophy to find different approaches and apply them in solving the current legal questions.

This program allows the student to correlate the contributions of various aspects of the law such

as human rights, history and philosophy of law, and to assess its importance in the development of legal science. Designed for those legal professionals who seek to deepen serious knowledge in the field of law. The Master’s program is recognized by the Secretariat of Public Education.

Lawyers with two or three years’ experience and/or GPA of 8.5/10

Perfil de egreso

Upon completing the course, the participants will have acquired the following knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

 

Knowledge:

Various trends in anthropology and legal ethics.

The development of legal science.

The various currents of ius-philosophical thought that nurture modern legal science.

Current issues around human rights and resolution based on different criteria of international and national courts.

The different legal schools of thought that influence modern constitutional criteria.

 

SKILLS:

Analyze and critique legal problems through exercises of formal and material argumentation.

Situate argumentative styles in different ius-philosophical schools.

Detect and use the main doctrinal, legislative and legal sources to solve legal problems.

Locate not only the framework of the rules in the facts themselves,  but use them to determine nature, relevance or irrelevance, causal succession and resistance to a logical and legal framework

 

ATTITUDES:

 

Analytical attitude in order to handle basic legal concepts and analyze the facts of a problem looking for its solution in legal standards and principles, and the circumstances, and agents in each situation, as well as the probable consequences of ideal solutions.

Critical attitude in order to understand the sense of different legal standards issued by different agents.

Ethical attitude in order to propose to different jurisdictional agents the resolution of legal problems and to carry out teaching and research analyzing the authentic causes of legal problems.
