ESDAI STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION IN CHILE

ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; July 18, 2018 - Students of the School of Institution Administration ESDAI will have the honor of representing Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara in the International Chef Sur (South Chef) Competition. This gastronomic competition been held for over fifteen years in Concepción, Chile.

 

The Chef Sur competition will take place at the Technological University of Chile INCAP Concepción-Talcahuano next October. Every year, the School of Institution Administration conducts an internal contest to select the students that will attend. This time, Karla Salgado and Ana Sofía Elías, fifth semester students, will participate.

 

In the previous selection process, the students created a 3-course menu using Mexican ingredients in an innovative way. Among the dishes they prepared, a dessert presented by the students was a highlight. The recipe consisted of a fusion of a tart and jericaya- a traditional local custard-, to which they added dulce de leche and an artisanal vanilla sorbet.

 

That dessert will be one of the dishes that the students will have to recreate during their participation in the contest. Among the criteria to be evaluated will be the use of local products, planning, culinary techniques used, and hygiene, among other factors.

 

 

Some of the challenges mentioned by the students were the choice of recipes, as well as food preparation time, since they will have only two hours to prepare three different dishes.

 

Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara through the School of Institution Administration ESDAI recognizes the achievement of the students and wishes them great success during their participation in the Chef Sur competition.
