The Mechatronics Engineer is distinguished by inventive and originality, as well as skill in handling interdisciplinary work teams. He/She has leadership and entrepreneur skills and adapts creatively to change.
The professional formation of the Mechatronics Engineer graduated from Unversidad Panamericana is based on knowledge of mathematics and physics, principles of electronics, computer science, robotics, and mechanics, as well as sciences of human behavior which allow him/her to act with a high social sense.
The Mechatronics Engineer has a high sense of organization which generates strong analytic and synthetic skills. This allows him/her to transform knowledge and physical elements into intelligent instruments.
He/She will have knowledge of:
- How to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental and social context.
- Contemporary problems
- Professional responsibility and ethics
- Mathematics, physics, computer science, administration and management, technological trends, legal framework, philosophy, etc.

The Mechatronics Engineer can develop his/her career in industries such as: automotive, aeronautics, biotechnology, telecommunications, robotics, electronics, and information systems, among others.
Thus, the field of work of the Mechatronics Engineer comprises aspects related to precision mechanics, electronic control systems, and information technologies. His/her knowledge enables the Mechatronics Engineer to design systems and equipment including computer components, peripheral systems, navigation systems for automobiles, automation for production lines, projects for intelligent buildings, support devices for persons with disabilities, components for aeronautics engineering and any other system which can improve human life.
8% of graduates are working in the automotive industry, in companies such as Continental; 26% are in manufacturing plants such as Sanmina, Jabil and Flextronics; 18% work in development and computer firms, such as Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Intel, 21% are in managerial positions in different companies and 27% have their own companies.
