The College of Engineering UP seeks to prepare engineers who can make a positive impact on society and on organizations, through the successful practice of their professions. They will acquire technical, managerial, business, and humanistic perspectives which will enable them to incorporate technical, scientific, human, economic, and social factors, which, according to the institutional mission, will aid in the construction of a more just world.
The College of Engineering at UP is a proud example of technological development. We are leaders in the field of engineering for our academic excellence, as certified by different institutions. We are the only Engineering school which has consistently won awards in international competitions during the past decade.

We are the only College of Engineering in Mexico which has consistently won awards in international competitions during the past decade:
In 2013, the robot “Ixnamiki Öme” obtained first place in the manipulation trials at RoboCup in Eindhoven, Netherlands. RoboCup is the most important robotics competition in the world. It is divided into several specializations, such as: home robotics, soccer, aerial robots, and manipulation and rescue, which is where UP Aguascalientes participates.
In 2010, 2011 and 2012 “Ixnamiki” was selected “best robot in America” in RoboCup competitions held in Singapore, Turkey, and Mexico, respectively. In 2010, it was named first place overall, and was the first Mexican robot in the history of the competition to place in the worldwide Top Ten.o
In 2012 and again in 2013, we were Champions in the Latin American competition of Logistics Simulation, organized by Flexsim and the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). It took place in Colombia.
