Mexico City, September 10, 2024.- The area of Alumni of the Universidad Panamericana celebrated the presentation of the book ESG: The Commitment to a Sustainable World. Actuality, Challenges and Opportunitiescoordinated by Juan Carlos Luna Barberena, alumni of the law school and founding partner of Lawgisti and LAWIT GROUP.
The event aimed to promote and disseminate the concepts of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) as an integral strategy that drives positive changes in companies and contributes to a more sustainable future.
About the work
The book ESG: The commitment to a sustainable world. Actuality, challenges and opportunities, is a collaborative work that brings together 22 experts in various disciplines, addressing key issues such as business, finance, governance, regulation, energy, technology and business vision.
The book was edited and published with the aim of providing a comprehensive view of how ESG criteria can be applied to improve the long-term performance of companies and promote sustainable practices.
The presentation was attended by authorities from our university, such as Dr. José Antonio Lozano Díez, president of the Board of Governors, Universidad Panamericana - IPADE; Ms. Cecilia Canal Garrido, vice rector of campus Mexico; and Mr. Salvador Beltrán del Río Madrid, director of Institutional Development .
Also invited were María Goerlich, director of Tirant lo Blanch; Juan Carlos Luna Barberena, partner and founder of Lawgisti and LAWIT GROUP; and Valentina Villa, counsel and director of Social Responsibility at Creel, García-Cuéllar y Enríquez, S.C.
As well as Adalberto Méndez, attorney at Law and International Consultant on Responsible Business Conduct / Business & Human Rights Law / ESG, DEI & CSR; Eileen Matus, founder Reg(X) Simplifying the function, expert in regulation and economic competition; and Gustavo Alanís-Ortega, president of Centro Mexicano de Derecho Ambiental A.C. (CEMDA).
ESG and its impact on companies
During the event, the official presentation of the book was held, in which several of the authors shared their perspective on the topics addressed in the book. There was also a presentation focused on the importance of ESG criteria and their impact on companies, as well as on sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
Gustavo Alanís-Ortega commented during his speech: "ESG is more than a strategy; it is a comprehensive vision that allows us to create a more just and sustainable future for all.
Dr. Lozano said: " Universidad Panamericana is proud to be the cradle of initiatives that drive positive changes in the business and social world".
These events help strengthen Panamericana's reputation as an institution that promotes knowledge and discussion of current issues of global relevance. In addition, it positions our university as a key player in the dissemination of sustainable and responsible business practices, aligning with its commitment to form leaders with a deep sense of social responsibility.
