Aguascalientes, Ags., September 30, 2024.- Students of the School of Pedagogy and Psychology of our Panamerican campus Panamericana campus Aguascalientes obtain artistic scholarship from R. Evolución LatinaR. Evolución Latina, an NGO based in New York, USA, that promotes the development and growth of Latin American youth and adults through different art disciplines.
During the summer of 2023, Michelle Raimond, María José Armendáriz and Liliana Cruz, director and coordinator of the Arts and Culture department, respectively, took a course in Cultural Artistic Production and Management in New York City, and it was then that an agreement was reached with R. Evolución Latina, which, in addition to training Latino talent so that they can enter the big leagues of the arts, offers programs and collaborations with various Broadway staging organizations.
Among the first activities carried out together, Gabriela García, one of the founders of R. Evolución Latina, taught a Musical Theater Summer Course at the facilities of Universidad Panamericana campus Aguascalientes.
A pride for our Panamerican
Gabriela Garcia along with the R.Evolución Latina committee, noticing the great talent of the students, decided to award two full academic scholarships for the "Dare to go Beyond" educational program to be held in April 2025.
Thanks to their skills, talent and dedication, students Ingrid Méndez and Agustín Domínguez -both students of the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and who are also part of the artistic community of Panamericana-, were selected to live this incredible experience where they will be trained in dance, singing and acting.
"This opportunity reflects that things are being done in the right way. I intend to give it all I've got, to give my best so that the best comes out of it," says Ingrid.
She also emphasizes that this artistic experience will contribute enormously to both her artistic and academic career in psychology.
"For our Panamericana, this is an extraordinary opportunity for our students to project themselves nationally and internationally. We are very happy because what we seek in the areas of Vida Universitaria is that our students are formed, projected and transcend," says Dr. Jorge Franco, director of Vida Universitaria.
"I am very excited about this opportunity, I want to challenge myself and then pass on this knowledge in a way that will open the way for the next generations. Besides the fact that it will help me to grow a lot both humanly and professionally," adds Agustín.
On the other hand, Agustín seeks to learn as much as possible about the technique used by others who have participated in Broadway in a more advanced and professional way.
This alliance between the Department of Arts and Culture of Universidad Panamericana campus Aguascalientes and R. Evolución Latina en Broadway, involves providing students with a broad vision of artistic growth and development at an international level, where they can also test their abilities and social skills.
"To have achieved this link with this organization is a sign of the confidence that they have in our work and that they have seen it. It is also a source of pride to be able to see the work that the university does," says Michelle Raimond, director of Arts and Culture.
It also highlights the work of all the theater, singing and dancing teachers who have trained the students who today are raising the name of our Panamericana to a high level.
It is worth mentioning that both students participated in the stellar presentation of the musical "The Prince of Egypt" that took place in May of this year.
"We are proud of our students, because the work we have done in Arte y Cultura is not only a technical training, but also a human training that has been reflected in this selection made today by R. Evolución Latina," says Grethel Arcos, coordinator of Arte y Cultura.
This opportunity not only boosts the talent of our students, but can also turn them into ambassadors of R. Evolución Latina in Aguascalientes, so that in the future they can be the ones to recruit new talent.
