ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; August 14, 2024. Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara Campus today saw the inauguration of Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade as the new rector of the campus, replacing Dr. José Antonio Esquivias Romero, who had been at the head of the institution since 2018.
Dr. Mendoza Andrade holds a degree in industrial engineering from Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara, a Master of Science and a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from The Penn State University.
In his speech during the swearing in ceremony, Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade expressed his vision for the future "We aspire to be a community of people who seek and love the truth in all fields of knowledge. We are a university inspired by Christian humanism that encourages university students to fully exercise their profession with a transcendent sense of the tasks they perform."
The new rector of Panamericana, spoke of the promotion of research as a generator of knowledge and solutions to the problems that afflict society and invited to join efforts "to create synergies with business, government, public and ecclesiastical institutions, media; better understand the reality of the environment, expand their social vision, promote research and innovation, and economic development of our state and country".
He referred to the work of the advisor as a challenger of the reflective thinking of his students, a promoter of their hopeful vision of the future.
The Rector General UP-IPADE, Dr. Fernanda Llergo Bay, during her speech, addressed a few words to the outgoing rector , Dr. José Antonio Esquivias Romero, for his work at the head of the campus. In turn, he welcomed Dr. Abraham Mendoza AndradeDear Abraham, this new position that you will occupy is extremely strategic, for which I reiterate my support at all times and I ask you to help me transmit to the entire university community of the UP Guadalajara that here we educate and work with a specific purpose: to reflect through study and professional work the greatness of the person, returning that ultimate meaning of life in the search for truth with openness to the transcendent".
Dr. Fernanda Llergo took advantage of the forum to send a message to the members of the entire Universidad Panamericana community at its Guadalajara, Mexico City and Aguascalientes campuses, not to forget that the mission of our institution remains to always uphold the person, safeguarding their dignity, educating them in freedom and responsibility.
Dr. José Antonio Esquivias Romero stated: "Looking to the future, it fills me with pride to see that the new Rector of the Guadalajara campus, Dr. Abraham Mendoza, a graduate of our campus, represents the fruit of the collective effort and the testimony of the academic excellence we promote. He adds: "I have seen students become outstanding professionals and citizens, professors receive recognition for their academic work, and collaborators overcome challenges with creativity and determination.
