On Monday August 4th to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the founding of our campus, the Solemn Mass to give thanks was held, led by the Bishop of the Diocese of Aguascalientes, José María de la Torre Martin in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral; this marks the first of a series of activities taking place throughout the year.
In attendance were students, profesors, parents, benefactors, former headmasters, Jose Romo Saucedo and Jesus Magana Bravo, and the current headmaster Dr. José Antonio Romero Esquivias. Special guests also included the governor of Aguascalientes, Carlos Lozano de la Torre and his wife, Blanca Rivera Rio de Lozano.
Mass was given by the Chaplain of our university, Dr. Carlos Cervantes Blengio, who gave thanks for all these years and said: "25 years of age in the life of a person is a sign of youth, no doubt, the same can be said of an educational institution. However, a long time has passed since the summer of 1989 when Universidad Bonaterra began its journey. It is certain many years have passed, especially considering the abundance of fruits of labor that have been harvested over time in in human formation. Of the thousands of young people who have passed through the halls of our beloved institution , what better form to express our gratitude to the Holy Eucharist concelebrated by our pastor, the heart of the Diocese in the Cathedral " .
He called upon the directors, profesors and collaborators to transmit the university philosophy in order to renew the spirit of society. He summoned the intercession of Mary for the youth of today to be brave and leave behind the customs that paralyze them. He closed by saying that a better world is needed.
