For the second consecutive year, Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara has received the distinction “Socially Responsible Company” and for the first time, it is recognized as a “Firm Committed to Social Inclusion”.
The 10th Latin American Encounter of Socially Responsible Businesses: RSE 360°: context, agenda and challenges, was held at Mexico City’s World Trade Center from May 2 to 4, 2017. This was the framework within which Universidad Panamericana, Campus Guadalajara received the ESR 2017 distinction, offered to firms which demonstrate social responsibility. At the same time, the University was recognized as Socially Inclusive by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi). The event brought together the principal business chambers which make up AliaRSE (The Alliance for Socially Responsible Businesses in Mexico) and Forum Empresa (the network of organizations which promote SRB in America).
The 10th Encounter brought together a total of 1,643 participants: representatives of socially responsible businesses, students, NGOs, and the general public from every state of the Mexican republic, as well as visitors from Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras and Panama. Activities included keynote speeches, plenary panels, forums, and innovative workshops related to SRB. Honored with the ESR distinction for 2017 were 830 large firms. Additionally, 34 firms were recognized for their efforts into social inclusion, and another 30 firms were distinguished as promotors of Social Responsibility in Value Chain, among other recognitions.
Representing the University, Elizabeth González de la Torre, of the Department of Accreditations and Certifications at UP Campus Guadalajara, received the ESR 2017 distinction, and the recognition –for the first year- as a Socially Inclusive Company.
These distinctions towards the University are the result of collaborative and voluntary efforts at Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara in favor of the quality of life, business ethics, the relationship with the community, and the care and preservation of the environment.
