UP and Cemefi begin collaboration in Aguascalientes

Aguascalientes, Ags., November 14, 2022.- Since its inception 55 years ago in Mexico and with 33 years in Aguascalientes, at the core of Panamericana's mission is the formation of people committed to the truth who contribute to building a better world . For its work in favor of different social causes and its commitment to issues such as human rights, labor standards, the environment and the fight against corruption, Universidad Panamericana was recognized by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy A.C. (Cemefi) as a Socially Responsible Company (ESR) in its three campuses. In Aguascalientes, this recognition was received for the first time.

Citizen's Medal of Merit

At the beginning of this year, our institution joined the Global Compact, for which an Institutional Committee of Distintives and Evidence was created, which deals with everything related to issues of social responsibility and development of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN. At the Aguascalientes campus, the project leader in this committee is Dr. Yuriko Benítez, who recently received the Citizen's Merit Medal from Governor Martín Orozco .

The University also recently signed an agreement with the UN Global Compact. "This means that our institution supports the organization in the fulfillment of the sustainable development goals, such as the end of poverty, quality education, health and well-being, among others," says Dr. Benítez.

ESR

The ESR award is granted to organizations that, through their strategies, promote the four sustainable areas, ranging from business ethics, quality of life within the company, the linkage and commitment to the community surrounding the company and environmental care.

UP and Cemefi begin collaboration in Aguascalientes

The Universidad Panamericana Aguascalientes, in accordance with its own mission, supports and promotes several social and volunteer programs, among which the ÚNETE program stands out; where 120 students from different careers are volunteers. Together, these social collaborators total more than 950 hours of annual social work; in addition to this, their help is equivalent to an annual investment of more than a quarter of a million pesos; as well as the Bonaterra Community development project that serves families in the eastern area of our city, to whom it offers psycho-pedagogical care services, legal advice, entrepreneurship counseling and activities for mothers and children.

Cemefi

In addition, on November 7, a new agreement was signed between Panamericana and Cemefi to strengthen, with the support of the university, the "ESR Campus", where they can train and certify professionals in social responsibility issues.
