The general objective is that education professionals develop the necessary skills to fulfill the requirements of children and teenagers with special educational needs, and that education and family integrate as support of this process.

¿Por qué la UP?


This program considers the anthropology and ethics of individuals with special needs. It intends to focus on those who have special needs with the intention of incorporating them to regular groups. The outcome is the design of an intervention proposal for working with people with SEN.

This program is composed of all the aspects related to people with any special educational needs.

The faculty includes prestigious specialists with more than 20 years experience. 

No other higher education institution in Aguascalientes offers a program that focuses in preparing professionals to meet Special Educational Needs.

• An undergraduate degree, preferably in Special Education, Basic Education, Pedagogy, Psychology, or Counselling


Perfil de egreso


• Understand the role of educational integration as a process that allows students with special educational needs access to curricular purposes and elementary schools.

• Understand the logical sequence in the teaching of content of different subjects in basic education

• Recognize the relationship between the objectives and content of basic education with the development process, curricular competence, learning styles and motivation of learners with special educational needs.



• Identify and establish solutions to problems of special educational needs. Establish innovative strategies in the area of ​​special education for the promotion of learning.

• Identify special educational needs in learners

• Devise, implement and assess different strategies to identify opportunities and limitations presented by learners with special educational needs.

• Adjust elements of the curriculum to promote learning in students with special educational needs.

• Use appropriate teaching resources for students with special educational needs

• Provide guidance to families to encourage their participation in the process of psycho-educational care for students with special educational needs.



• Accept the profession as a career for life, understanding duties and responsibilities and using resources to enhance their work

• Manifest an attitude of service in the development of their professional activity

• Establish their pedagogy in philosophical roots, never confusing the means with the end.

• Acquire a conscious commitment to providing care to students who have special educational needs to promote achievement of their potential and their social integration.

• Apply ethical principles to concrete educations situation.



Opciones de titulación


The Specialist course in Special Needs Education at Universidad Panamericana, Campus Bonaterra, has established as the only degree option, the development of a Practical Case. This must be an original piece of work related to a real problem.


The case will document the problem and possible interventions, and will be defended before a jury.

Upon completing the program, there is the option to continue with a second specialist course and thus, obtain a Master’s degree.

Regarding the advisor and the dates for tutoring and deadlines, they will be assigned by the School of Pedagogy.

The degree recieved will be Specialist in Special Educational Needs.

By the end of the program, graduates can decide whether to continue with a second specialist course and obtain a Master's degree.
