Master's in Financial Law Institutions

The Master's in Financial Law Institutions aims to update and deepen theoretical- practical knowledge of participants in matters of Financial Law considering needs, demands and new trends in the public and private sectors. Also, it intends to educate so that professional practice in Financial Law is ethical either from consultancy, litigation, or from civil service to supervising bodies which regulate, monitor and inspect the operation and other activities of financial institutions and courts in charge of the administration of justice.

Law graduates whose practice is in the field of Financial or Commercial law, either advising, consulting, litigation, or in the public service in the supervisory bodies that regulate, monitor and inspect the functioning, operation and other activities of financial institutions, in the courts responsible for the administration of justice in this matter, as well as in academia, research or teaching.

Upon completing the program, the participant will have acquired the following knowledge, skills, and attitudes:




The different fields involved in the Master’s in Financial Institutions Law: Ethical Principles of Financial Law, Economics and Monetary Law, Financial and Banking System, Banking Operations, Topics related to Banking, Liquidation of Credit Institutions, Securities Law, Insurance Law, Bonds, Retirement Savings Systems, Savings and Loan, Protection of Private Interests, Authority to function as a financial intermediary, International Financial Law, Financial Crimes, Financial Groups, Organizations and Auxiliary Credit Activities, Derivative Financial Products, among others.

Selected current and controversial topics originated in daily practice in both the public sector and private sector.




Apply the principles, laws, financial regulations and legal techniques to understand and resolve the challenges and legal issues currently facing the financial sector.


Advise and implement the best strategies and solutions to legal casuistry within the financial sector.

Conduct research in the field of Financial Law, enriching its teaching and generating expert teachers and researchers in the field of Financial Law.




Possess high ethical and professional sense in solving any problems related to the field of Financial Law.

Promote at all times justice, the common good and social harmony as the basis of professional practice in various areas of financial law.

Opciones de titulación

To obtain the degree in the Master’s in Financial Institutions Law, the graduate has two options: prepare and defend a thesis, or solve a practical case using the case-study method.
