Specialist course in Gastronomy

The Specialist in Gastronomy seeks to develop specialists with the knowledge, techniques, skills,and attitudes they need to prepare and preserve foods, with respect for the great cuisines of the world.

Upon completing the program, the specialist in Gastronomy will:

• Understand and develop basic techniques for the preparation and serving of food

• Differentiate cultures, ingredients and cooking methods for each type of cuisine

• Assist in planning and organizing the food service of an institution.

• Understand the needs of the guests, in order to give realistic and satisfying solutions.

For either group, it is necessary to attend class the last Thursday of each month

Upon completing the program, the participant will be able to:


Detect training needs of staff involved in service institutions

Assist in planning and organizing the area of food service in an institution

Understand the needs of the guests, in order to give realistic and satisfactory solutions

Monitor all aspects of food services, in order to identify problems, propose immediate solutions and optimize processes

Be willing to work in teams, to create a pleasant environment between managers and personnel within the institution services

Participate in open decision-making

Provide service, based on a deep understanding of the human being

Opciones de titulación

Upon completing the program, the graduate will receive a degree as a Specialist in Gastronomy. If the participant does not have a Bachelor’s degree, she will receive a simple diploma.

By completing a second specialist course, the participant can obtain a Master’s degree.


+ Specialist in Event Management = Master's in Event Management and Management of Food and Beverage Operations

+ Specialist in Entrepreneurs in Food and Beverage Business = Master’s in Management and Operation of Food and Beverage Establishments


• The courses can be taken in any order.

• To begin a second specialist course, it is necessary to have covered all the credits of the first.

• To obtain the Master’s degree, it is necessary to have previously taken an Integration Seminar.
