Wound, Ostomy and Burns specialty program

The Specialist and Master’s program in Stomata, Injuries, and Burns, seeks to actively influence prevention, care, education, and therapy in patients. Our objective consists of providing scientific and humanistic tools for the development of competencies in the treatment of injuries, burns, and stomata.

We are convinced that patients, family members, and medical teams will benefit from the development of these competencies which are necessary in our country.

If you opt to complement your training with this graduate program, you can devote yourself with a greater degree of knowledge to the comprehensive care of the patient, the family, and the community in all processes of the life-cycle.



To train physicians and nurses to apply knowledge and tools to attend any person who presents injuries, burns, stomata and pelvic floor dysfunction in a profesional, ethical, and competent manner. To this end we employ critical and clinical evidence-based reasoning privileging student-teacher interaction in clinical management and research.



Throughout the course, the participant will learn to:

Research on the management of patients with burns, wounds, ostomies and pelvic floor dysfunction, contributing new knowledge to your job. Design plans for prevention and care, meeting the needs of patients, families and the medical team.

Promote teamwork with other health professionals, taking responsibility and leadership that corresponds to your level of competence and profession.

Develop teaching skills to act as a health professional in the training of students, patients, relatives or employees of health institutions.

Support patients with chronic or terminal illnesses and their families to deal with anger, pain, loss, grief and depression.

The Specialist and Master’s in Stoma, Injury and Burn Therapy has the following entry requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or General Medicine

Vocation for Service

Commitment towards society to seek the common good through health care

Interest in prevention, diagnostics, treatment or therapy in patients with injuries burns, stomata, or incontinence.

Perfil de egreso

Upon completing the program, the graduate will be able to:

Develop prevention, management and treatment of patients with wound, stomata, burns and pelvic floor disorders

Apply best practices for the management of patients with wound, stomata, burns and urinary and fecal incontinence

Make appropriate decisions in the treatment of patients with any type of wound or stoma

Create and manage prevention programs for patients with wound, stomata, burns and pelvic floor disorders

Conduct research in the various areas
