ZAPOPAN, Jalisco, March 22, 2018.- The life of an entrepreneur is based on passion and perseverance, which become evident in a business project. With the intention of motivating young people to become entrepreneurs, UP hosted the event “Rocket Sessions”, a series of talks with successful business people, such as Leticia Sahagún (creator of Taller Mágico), José Luis Reyes (founder and director general of Estrenón), Pablo Lemus Navarro (businessman and mayor of Zapopan) and Benito Santos (fashion designer).


The speakers talked about their experience in creating a brand. They offered advice, and anecdotes, and they mentioned the risks they have faced. The objective was to encourage participants to launch their own business ideas.


Leticia “Lety” Sahagún focused on motivating attendees. She mentioned steps to take into account in developing an idea. She highlighted the importance of attitude during the launch period. Lety is the creator of Taller Mágico, a platform designed to inspire and connect people to find, build, and nourish their better selves.


During his turn, José Luis Reyes told the story of how he created “Estrenón”, a company devoted to selling second-hand clothing among a low-income and vulnerable population. He mentioned the hard work behind his success, as well as his achievements. He encouraged participants to launch their own projects, and to never give up in trying to reach their dreams.



Another presenter was Pablo Lemus Navarro, former mayor of Zapopan. Lemus spoke of his career as a businessman, and as a politician. He spoke of his interest in public service, and how this led him to politics. “We believe in your initiatives” he said, “But we believe more in you”.


Another important personality at the event was fashion designer, Benito Santos.  He focused his presentation on the factors that led him to become a highly ranked businessman in the fashion industry.


For Benito, success consists of the following: hard and persistent work, dedication to each article of clothing, and authenticity in every design, based on who will wear it.



Mexico is a promising country, with ideas and project of enormous importance. Events of this nature motivate participants to leave behind their fears and launch their own businesses, materializing dreams that will contribute to the growth of the country.
