UP and FUNDEMEX Join Forces to Promote Sustainable Social Development

Universidad Panamericana has been selected by the Mexican Business Foundation (FUNDEMEX) as its strategic partner in a research project aimed at identifying, documenting, and analyzing five successful cases of social projects with business support in Mexico.

The main objective of this initiative is to strengthen FUNDEMEX’s philanthropy model and to position the foundation as a knowledge reference in the field of social development.

A Collaboration Model with Real Impact

FUNDEMEX, the social arm of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), has the mission of articulating efforts between the private sector and civil society to promote sustainable development, with a particular emphasis on strengthening employment and labor inclusion in communities facing conditions of vulnerability.

Following a competitive selection process that included the submission of a technical proposal, three sessions before a specialized committee, and the demonstration of the institutional strength and experience of its researchers, Universidad Panamericana was selected for its academic rigor and humanistic approach.

Systematization of Best Practices with a Scientific and Human Perspective

According to the project leaders, the central value of this research lies in the systematization of best practices of a company with business support from a scientific, social, and human research perspective. This approach will make it possible not only to document experiences, but also to extract meaningful lessons that can be replicated in other contexts.

Among the main methodological challenges faced by the research team is the collection and generation of data, as many of the participating companies do not formally record their processes.

Despite this challenge, a mixed methodology (qualitative and quantitative) will be applied, including interviews, surveys, and field visits to measure the impact of the projects on employment, productivity, and inclusion.

Practical Findings and a Lasting Legacy

One of the core commitments of the project is to ensure that the findings are practical and applicable. The mixed methodology will make it possible to guarantee the applicability of the identified best practices in other business cases.

Beyond the delivery of a research document, the expected legacy of the project includes a set of clear and accessible guidelines that other companies, as well as FUNDEMEX itself, will be able to follow in order to facilitate the path toward sustainability and success in their social interventions.

Institutional Commitment of Universidad Panamericana

Through this collaboration, Universidad Panamericana reaffirms its commitment to applied research, social innovation, and corporate responsibility.

Through strategic alliances such as this one, the university consolidates its role as an active agent in the generation of sustainable solutions to the country’s social and economic challenges.
