Universidad Panamericana and the strategic consultancy Roland Berger presented the study Sustainable Corporate Pulse 2025: What Mexico’s Leading Companies Report, aimed at promoting a responsible corporate culture capable of addressing social demands while preserving and regenerating the natural environment.
During the presentation, held at the Santa Fe campus of Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City, Dr. Joaquina Niembro García, research professor and project coordinator, emphasized: “Sustainability is a fundamental pillar for the future of business in Mexico. Companies must develop a responsible culture committed to the environment and society.”

UP and Roland Berger Joining Forces
This work is the result of a joint effort between Universidad Panamericana and Roland Berger to promote research projects that significantly contribute to the national agenda.
“We are proud to present this first study dedicated to sustainability, which marks the beginning of a strategic alliance aimed at addressing high-impact issues for Mexico,” the project leaders stated.

The collaboration between the two institutions seeks to go beyond the academic sphere, fostering research that not only generates knowledge but also offers relevant solutions for the country’s business and social environment. “This study is the first of many we plan to develop together, paving the way for future research in key areas for national development,” they added.
One of the initiative’s main achievements is the active participation of students in high-impact projects, giving them a clear orientation toward achieving tangible results. “We firmly believe that the best professional preparation comes from facing real challenges and collaborating with industry leaders,” the coordinators noted.
Building a Sustainable and Responsible Country
The study aims to capture the current state of sustainability in Mexico, providing a solid basis for future research. “Our goal is to inspire meaningful reflection on the role companies play in building a more sustainable and responsible country,” explained Dr. Niembro.
Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, Rector of Universidad Panamericana’s Mexico City campus, highlighted: “The university has the responsibility to generate knowledge that positively transforms society. This study is an example of how collaboration between academia and the business sector can create real impact in Mexico.”

MBA Gilberto Lozano Meade, Managing Partner at Roland Berger, commented: “Sustainability is one of the great challenges of our time. With this study, we seek to lay the groundwork for Mexican companies to lead the shift toward a more responsible and competitive future.”

Dr. Joaquina Niembro, also general coordinator of the research, explained: “The study establishes a common framework for assessing corporate sustainability, based on the information reported by Mexico’s top 100 companies.”Alongside Dr. Niembro, the study was developed by Dr. Andree Marie López Fernández, M.A. Laura Jiménez Casillas, and students José Miguel Montoya Morales and María Isabel Ruiz Spin, among others.
