Universidad Panamericana | Faculty of Engineering Academic Offering Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems and Graphics Engineering

Computer Graphics and Systems Engineering Program

In Computer Graphics and Systems Engineering, we combine creativity, software development and problem-solving skills. Our aim is to specialise our students in technological solutions for different industries, from creating apps and web systems to mixed reality and parallel computing.

With the help of companies such as Google, Tacit Knowledge and Nasa, we designed our curriculum to respond to the needs of future industry and to develop engineers who are committed to improving their community, responsibly and ethically. That's why our programme has the following advantages:

  • First programme in Latin America to have student projects selected to participate in the ACM SIGGRAPH FSSW, the most important congress in the world.
  • 90% of our final semester students work in the software industry, with salaries of over 20,000 per month.
  • Winners of the MIT Covid-19 Challenge Latin America in Track D, on health in the workplace using virtual reality
  • Members of Google's Developer Students Club, Google's global new technology learning community
  • We have the most powerful computer graphics lab in Latin America, at university level.
  • We have an excellent faculty of teachers, leaders in the area of software and some research professors.

"Before entering university, I knew nothing about programming and little about computers. Making the decision to study systems at UP was the best thing that ever happened to me. It took me into a world of immeasurable size, where every day I learn something new and I am being part of the industry that moves the world".

Sergio Velázquez, ISGC, class of 2017-2022, GDL Campus

"Studying engineering at UP opened the doors to a world of professional possibilities through the subjects and the hands-on projects that bring you closer to industry. Every project is a goal to achieve and along the way you make good friends, use your creativity to do innovative things, learn from your professors and improve your professional skills".

Fernanda Gallo, ISGC, class of 2017-2022, Campus GDL

"Today's industry requires programmers who are up to date with their knowledge, who have the basic skills necessary for a competitive industry. All this is fulfilled by the degree and much more. But what is most required, and what almost no university offers, is new knowledge in the programming and technology sector. The computer graphics part of the course contains new technologies in special sectors. It is not the same to be a web programmer as to know how to program and use the full potential of a graphics card. This and the high level of personalisation are the difference between the UP and other universities.

Oscar Ochoa, ISGC, class of 2016-2021, GDL Campus

"Panamericana helped me to develop my logical-mathematical thinking. With the perfect combination of science, programming and technology, to contribute to the development and resolution of problems in different sectors. Since mid-job many of us have found jobs, and we see what a difference studying Computer Graphics and Systems Engineering has made".

Karla González, ISGC, class of 2018-2023, Campus GDL

"Studying ISGC gave me the best tool I have ever got in my life, programming. It is 100% applicable and transferable across all industries and has given me a mindset of logic and optimisation. It has opened many doors for me, each one better than the last".

Bernardo Moya, ISGC, class of 2017-2022, GDL Campus

"Studying Systems at UP allowed me to develop key skills for my professional performance in the IT field, while at the same time I was able to learn from professors who are experts in their field and who know, first hand, the needs of the industry we are targeting. All in a cooperative environment while remaining competitive and challenging. Things that, as a videogame developer, have allowed me to form part of international development teams".

Heráclito Pérez, class of 2016-2021, Campus GDL
