Since its founding, the Universidad Panamericana guided by a commitment to excellence, the relentless pursuit of truth, and the promotion of human virtues.

These values are shared by Opus Dei, an institution of the Catholic Church whose specific mission is to encourage men and women from all walks of life to make a personal commitment to following Christ and to pursue the fullness of Christian life in their work, family, and daily activities.

In 1968, the Pan-American Institute of Humanities was founded; it later gave rise to our university and shares with Opus Dei the principle of living a life of integrity, in accordance with Christian morality and virtues.

What is Opus Dei?

Its mission is to share the message that work and everyday life offer opportunities to encounter God, serve others, and improve society. Opus Dei collaborates with local churches by offering Christian formation programs—such as classes, retreats, and pastoral care—for people who wish to renew their spiritual life and their apostolate.

Its founder, St. Josemaría Escrivá, devoted himself entirely to fulfilling this mission. As part of its apostolic work—which is universal in scope and characterized by absolute respect for freedom and pluralism—Opus Dei has spread to 68 countries across five continents.

Our motto embodies the fundamental principles that guide us as a university. The pursuit and preservation of truth have spiritual roots. And it is this that is expressed in our motto.

All of our activities—extracurricular, cultural, administrative, educational, and maintenance—are an endeavor of freedom because they aim to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, as well as its expansion: the intimate, trusted truth proposed by God Himself; and the reasoned truth, that which is brought into being by human ingenuity.

About Escudo
LIVE TO SERVE

The Universidad Panamericana of Universidad Panamericana Anthem Universidad Panamericana an iconic musical composition that defines us and brings members of the community together. It poetically and lyrically captures our spirit and our mission.

Its origins date back to 2017. As part of a series of events to commemorate our University’s 50th anniversary, the Office of the President called for the creation of an anthem to represent our University.

The lyrics were written by Roberto Gerardo González Rodríguez, then the ECEE’s outreach coordinator, and the music was commissioned from Dr. Francisco Cortés Álvarez, a professor of composition at the School of Fine Arts at the Universidad Panamericana.
