Fernanda Llergo Bay is currently the General Rector of the Universidad Panamericana and IPADE. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Letters. She has worked in the administration of educational institutions for more than 38 years, initially at schools and educational centers in Mexico City.
Training
Fernanda Llergo Bay earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the Universidad Panamericana. She holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Governance and Culture from the University of Navarra, and a Master’s degree in Strategic Leadership and Innovation Management from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Carlos III University of Madrid. She has completed executive education programs at IPADE.
Professional Background
Dr. Fernanda Llergo is a member of the Executive Committee of the Scholas Ocurrentes network, an international foundation based in Rome, Italy, that seeks to foster a “Culture of Encounter” and transform the world into an inclusive society through the improvement of education and the integration of communities.
She currently serves as president of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Mexican Private Institutions of Higher Education (FIMPES), as well as a member of the board of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES) and the Council of Private Universities and Related Institutions (CUPRIA).
In 2005, she joined the Universidad Panamericana Aguascalientes as Assistant Director to the President and was later appointed Campus Vice President, a position she held until 2016, when she was named General Vice President of the entire Pan-American System.
The Governing Board of the Pan-American University System ( Universidad Panamericana ) and IPADE appointed her as President of the Pan-American University System on November 19, 2020, for a three-year term; she was reelected to a second term in that position.
She has been a regular contributor to the Excélsior newspaper (Mexico) since 2021.
Academic Activities
She is a tenured professor of Pedagogical Theory at the School of Education on the Mexico City Campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( Universidad Panamericana ) and has also taught courses in Political Philosophy and Philosophical Anthropology.
His main areas of research focus on the present and future of education.
Publications
In April of this year, Fernanda was invited to serve as a presenter (among others) for the book *The Pedagogy of the Common Good*, published by the Institute of the Pedagogy of the Common Good at UPAEP.
