The Faculty of Law UP is distinguished by its social commitment to forming the best lawyers, not only in legal techniques, but in their deep sense of professional ethics. They are lawyers who not only opt for legal justice, but who promote true justice as the only path to social progress.
Our Faculty is the only one in Mexico whose curriculum was developed together with two of the most prestigious Law Faculties in the world: those of Harvard and Yale. It is a curriculum centered on the case-study method as a learning system, with an intense focus on the development of competencies.
Mission: Our mission is to form lawyers who, through study, dialogue, and reflecton, seek the truth and commit to it.
Vision: To be the best Law Faculty in Mexico.

The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2009.
"Jessup is the world's largest moot court competition, with participants from over 550 law schools in more than 80 countries. The Competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations. One team is allowed to participate from every eligible school. Teams prepare oral and written pleadings arguing both the applicant and respondent positions of the case". Founded in 1959, the competition is managed all over the world by the International Law Students Association.
Since 2006, our students participate in summer courses through the Phoenix Institute at Notre Dame University in the US or in Vienna.
“The Phoenix Institute is an educational organization that concerns itself with the question "What is it to be human?" It examines mankind in all its essential components -intellectual, psychological, spiritual."
"The experience of the international students and faculty brought together by the Phoenix Institute since 1987 offers compelling evidence that the human spirit is still invincible and that human beings are still capable of individual and collective greatness. Our summer sessions in the United States and Europe, the extensions of these summer programs on three continents and our international conferences, are designed to communicate our confidence in the human spirit to young men and women who are determined to embody all that makes mankind honorable, just, and true.”
Pan-American Model of United Nations, PANAMMUN.
“Pan-American Model of the United Nations, PANAMMUN, is a model of devleopment of competencies and skills which emulates committees of the Organization of United Nations (UN). The initiative comes from Alfredo Reyes, alumnus of the Faculty of Law and a Venezuelan national. He was interested in motivating local students to participate in the big issues which affect the international community. For the past 7 years, over fifteen hundred students from high school or the university have participated in this model, which is unique at the regional level. It has gained prestige and impact among members of the academic community with participation of more than 25 high schools from the cities of Aguascalientes, León, San Luis Potosí and, in 2013, Querétaro.”
