Eduardo Charpenel Elorduy is a full-time research professor in the Department of Philosophy at Universidad Panamericana. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (Germany) in 2015. He has subsequently taught seminars there as a visiting scholar and, during the 2021–2022 winter semester, served as a visiting professor (Lehrstuhlvertreter), holding the chair of Ancient and Practical Philosophy. In 2023, he was also a visiting professor at the University of Łódź (Poland). His historical research focuses on Ancient Philosophy, particularly Plato, Aristotle, and Augustine of Hippo, as well as on Classical German Philosophy, especially Kant and Hegel. His systematic interests include ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of right, aesthetics, philosophy of culture, and philosophy of religion. He is the author of Ethos und Praxis. Der Charakterbegriff bei Aristoteles (Karl Alber, 2017), as well as numerous scholarly articles and book chapters. He has also co-edited, with Nassim Bravo and Gustavo Esparza, Myth and Religion: The Cultural and Philosophical Significance of the Hero (Brill, 2026), and, with Nassim Bravo and Luis Xavier López Farjeat, Philosophical and Theological Perspectives on the Figure of Job: The Disruptive Challenges of God (Brill, 2026). Since 2024, he has served as co-editor of Revista de Estudios Kantianos, the journal of the Society for Kantian Studies in the Spanish Language (SEKLE). He has been a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers since 2018 and currently holds Level II status.
