Ivonne María Acuña Macouzet holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s degree in ancient philosophy from the Universidad Panamerciana. For her master’s degree, she successfully defended her thesis, titled “The Relationship Between the Theory of Philosophical Interpretation (ta’wīl) and Jurisprudence in Ibn Rushd,” with honors.
She is a member of the Aquinas and the Arabs International Working Group and has participated in numerous national and international conferences, as well as colloquia organized jointly with Princeton University and the University of Notre Dame. She participated in the research project “Aristotelian and Neoplatonic Perspectives in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.” She was a course instructor at the Institute of Humanities from 2022 to 2023, and from 2024 to 2026 she served as Student Affairs Coordinator for the Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy. She is currently the Academic Secretary of the School of Philosophy.
