Leonardo Ruiz Gómez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( Universidad Panamericana ) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Navarra, where he was awarded the 2014 Special Thesis Prize. Since 2015, he has worked as a Research Professor in the School of Philosophy at the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( Universidad Panamericana ) and currently serves as Director of the Bachelor’s Program in Philosophy at that same university. Since 2016, he has been a member of the SECITHI National System of Researchers (Level II). He served as director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy at the Universidad Panamericana from 2019 to 2023 and is currently the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at the same institution. He has served as secretary of the Ibero-American Leibniz Network since 2024 and has led and participated in various research projects on the philosophy of Leibniz and the Baroque period. 

He is the author of the book: The Leibnizian Concept of Space: The Controversy with Clarke and Newtonianism (EUNSA, 2014) and of various scholarly articles. His areas of research include the philosophy of nature, bioethics, the philosophy of science, modern philosophy, and 17th-century metaphysics.
