Ari Barrera received his PhD degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Intelligent Systems in 2017 from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is currently a professor-researcher in the computing academy within the School of Engineering at Universidad Panamericana. He was working as a software and machine learning engineer at the Big Data Enterprise and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Bristol Business School at the University of the West of England. Ari is a member of the National System of Researchers Level 1 and adherent member of the Mexican Academy of Computing. He has 12 scientific publications indexed in Journals such as Elsevier and Sensors; the last one being the article entitled "Generating real-world-like labelled synthetic datasets for construction site applications". His research interests are pattern recognition, data mining, machine learning, one-class classification, psychological condition monitoring and wearable sensors.
