Research Professor Carolina Del-Valle-Soto was born in Medellin, Colombia. She received Master of Science degrees in Electronic Engineering - Telecommunications and PhD in Information and Communication Technologies in 2009 and 2015, respectively. She is an Electronic Engineer from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, Colombia. In her doctoral and master's studies she received the honorable mention of excellence by the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Since 2006 she has been working at Universidad Panamericana in Guadalajara, where she is a Full Research Professor D in the School of Engineering and Head of the Computing Academy. She is a member of the National System of Researchers, level 1 (by the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico). Carolina is an evaluator for the European Commission in Frontier Technologies since 2020. She researches in the area of wireless sensor networks applied for health and smart cities. She has more than 70 papers and around 500 citations.
