Bachelor’s degree in Tourism from the National Polytechnic Institute; Master’s and Ph.D. in
Systems Engineering from the same institution. Member of the National System of
Researchers, Level 1. She has completed research stays at
the University of Lorraine, France; at Leeds Beckett University; and at the University of
Hull, in the United Kingdom.
She holds the Certified Meetings Specialist designation and has more than ten years of experience in the
meetings industry. Her master’s and doctoral theses focused
on the viability of the meetings industry in Mexico; she earned both degrees with
honors.
She is currently the Secretary of Research and a research professor at the
School of Hospitality at the Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara Campus. As a
researcher, her special interest focuses on sustainability issues in
tourism and hospitality, as well as on systems thinking applied to
organizations. Her work has been published in scientific articles in indexed international journals
and in book chapters, and she has also served as the editor of two
books. She has also presented her research-based work at
national and international conferences.
He is a member of the expert panel for the UN Tourism Barometer, the scientific committee
of the Alliance in Hospitality & Culinary Arts—a network of leading universities in
hospitality—and a member of the Professional Convention Management Association.
