Claudia Yohana Arias Portela

Dr. Claudia Arias Portela holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (Tec de Monterrey). She is an industrial engineer and holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering. She is a researcher with the National System of Researchers (SNII). She has completed international internships at LMU in Munich, Germany, and the University of Brescia in Italy. Throughout her professional career, she has worked in the private sector at leading companies in industries such as mining, oil, consumer goods, automotive, and floriculture.

In addition, he conducts applied research, teaches, and provides consulting services to national and international companies in the industrial and educational sectors. He has experience in cognitive and physical ergonomics, process design and characterization, occupational health and business productivity, industrial safety, Edutech, strategic planning, and short supply chains. He also holds certifications in Industry 4.0 and data science.

She is currently a professor, researcher, and academic director of the Operations Management program for both the graduate and undergraduate programs in the School of Engineering at the Mexico City campus. She is also the faculty advisor for the IISE (Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers) chapter at UP in Mexico, with Gold status. She also served as Director of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Management. She is affiliated with The Action Lab and the Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence Centers (MIT SCALE). She has presented at numerous national and international conferences and has published articles in highly prestigious journals.
