He holds a Ph.D. in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. He also holds a Master’s degree in Social Communication from the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( Universidad Panamericana), a certificate in Artificial Intelligence Tools for Social Research from the International Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, a certificate in Digital Journalism from the University of the Basque Country (Spain), and a certificate in Social Research Methodology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
A graduate of the Carlos Septién García School of Journalism.
Full professor of the seminar “Analysis of Virtual Communities and Sociodigital Networks.” He also teaches courses on cyberjournalism, research methodology, network science, data visualization, and big data management.
He directs the Digital Media Observatory and currently coordinates the inter-institutional and interdisciplinary research project “Uses, Dilemmas, and Opportunities of Generative Artificial Intelligence in CONEICC’s Academic Communities.”
