She holds a Ph.D. in Communication with a Summa Cum Laude distinction and a Master’s degree in Communication with the highest honors from the Universidad de los Andes in Chile. She also holds a Master’s degree in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of North Texas and a certificate in Hispanic Marketing Communication from Florida State University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education, with a specialization in Anthropology and Ethics and in Teaching Skills, from the Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara Campus.

She has been affiliated with the UP for 23 years, first at the School of Communication, and since 2014 she has been a professor and researcher at the School of Education and Psychology. She currently serves as Dean of the School of Education and Psychology.

She has held the position of full associate member of the Mexican Council for Educational Research since 2023 and has been designated a Level 1 Researcher in the SECIHTI National System of Researchers since 2022. She participates in the Recrea ongoing research seminar organized by the Jalisco Ministry of Education.

Executive Manager of the project “Character Education Leadership Program for Mexican Public Schools,” funded by the Templeton World Charity Foundation in collaboration with the University of Navarra and the Center for Character Education and Citizenship at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

She is a consultant for the Jalisco Ministry of Education on character education issues. She is a visiting professor at the Universidad del Istmo in Guatemala, the Universidad Católica de El Salvador, and the Universidad de los Andes in Chile.
