María de la Luz Lina Casas Martínez

Professor María de la Luz Casas Martínez earned a master’s degree in Bioethics from Anáhuac University and a Ph.D. in Health Sciences, with a focus on Bioethics, from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1995 and 2003, respectively. Since 1996, she has worked at the National Institute of Public Health ( Universidad Panamericana , CDMX), where she has held the rank of Full Professor D in the School of Health Sciences. She is currently a Research Professor at CIBUP and an Honorary Member of the Bioethics Association of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

In addition, she is a member of the National System of Researchers, Level 1 (through Mexico’s National Council for Science and Technology). In 2017, she was awarded the Aesculap National Prize in Bioethics.

His publications include 19 volumes and more than 110 articles, which are contributions to edited volumes, encyclopedias, and journals. His areas of research interest are: Clinical Bioethics, Conscientious Objection, and Transhumanism.
