Prof. Mario Acevedo earned a degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology ( Universidad Panamericana) in 1992. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Navarra – San Sebastián (Spain) in 1996. He earned a master’s degree in Information Technology and Management from ITAM in 2002. He is a graduate of ADIT (Senior Management in Innovation and Technology) and D1, executive development programs at IPADE Business School.

Since 1996, he has been a Professor and Researcher in the School of Engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( Universidad Panamericana ) and currently serves as Secretary of Research at the Guadalajara Campus. He is a Level 1 member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNI).

Representative in Mexico for the International Federation for the Study of the Theory of Mechanisms and the Science of Machines (IFToMM). His areas of research include: machine dynamics; applications of the dynamics of rigid and flexible solid systems; robot kinematics and dynamics; and the application of machine and mechanism theory.
