Dr. Rómulo Ramírez Daza y García is a philosopher and a Level I member of the National System of Researchers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Guadalajara, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Guanajuato, Mexico.
Since 2007, he has served as a professor and researcher at the Institute of Humanities at the Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara campus (classified as a Tenured A Professor), where he also served as Secretary of Research from 2017 to 2023. In addition, he has been a B-level professor at the University of Guadalajara since 2009.
He is the author of three books and 50 scholarly publications, including articles and book chapters. His specialized research focuses on ancient philosophy and argumentation, with particular emphasis on Plato, Aristotle, their preceding traditions, and the reception of these two thinkers by later generations; he is also a renowned scholar of San Juan de la Cruz.
Finally, he is a member of the academic departments of Logic, Rhetoric, and Theory of Argumentation, as well as Religion and Society at the University of Guadalajara. He belongs to various international and national organizations, including the International Society for Greek Philosophy (Spain and Portugal), the Mexican Academy of Rhetoric at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the Ibero-American Organization of Rhetoric, the Latin American Association of Ancient Philosophy, the Philosophical Association of Mexico, the Mexican Association of Classical Studies, and the Ibero-American Association of Argumentation.
