With a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( Universidad Panamericana , 1978) and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Navarra (1991), Dr. Virginia Aspe Armella has been a tenured professor of philosophy in Mexico since 1994. She has served as a visiting professor at Columbia University thanks to the Edmundo O’Gorman Fellowship (2018) and is a member of the Hispanic-American Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters of Mexico, corresponding to the Royal Spanish Academy (2018). She is a member of the National System of Researchers, Level 3 (2019).
He has published his research with numerous Mexican university presses, as well as with Brill, and in journals such as *Cauriensia* and *Religions*.
As a specialist in Mexican philosophy, he is currently studying the social and political philosophical arguments that have emerged in Mexico. He is also a specialist in ancient philosophy, specifically in the work of Aristotle and practical and productive reasoning, and has previously researched Aristotle’s influence in New Spain.
