Women on the Rise Meeting in the Universidad Panamericana

Mexico City, May 6, 2025.- Surrounded by specialists in areas such as philosophy, economics, international relations, women's empowerment, among others, hundreds of female students of the Universidad Panamericana gathered to take part in the meeting "Women in High Women in Altoan event that made a difference in the student community thanks to its integrative and multidisciplinary approach. The active participation of the students in the discussions and workshops provided an enriching space for reflection and learning.

Over the course of three days, 10 presentations were given, which provided tools for the students to improve not only their personal but also their professional development.

"There was a diversity of topics, from toxic relationships, to personal finance and leadership, which managed to capture different audiences and generate a positive impact on the attendees," stated Fernanda Hernandez, president of the student group S+HE and Paulina Cerda Landero, president of the Alumni Society of the Universidad Panamericana (SAUP).

Dialogue and diversity of perspectives

The session entitled Ecofeminist DialoguesThe session, entitled Ecofeminist Dialogues, left its mark on the attendees, as it highlighted the need for personal actions to counteract the impact of capitalism, emphasized the importance of autonomy in this current and discussed the relationship of exploitation between countries.

"It marked a milestone in the critical thinking of the student community, encouraging reflection and the questioning of pre-established ideas; also, it demonstrated that the process towards truth is collective, promoting dialogue and diversity of perspectives," said Paulina Cerda.

Men were not left out of this initiative, since they participated in From Man to Manan event in which they discussed the traditional concept of what it means to be a man and how this can contribute to violence against women. They also questioned stereotypes and explored ways to promote a healthier and more respectful masculinity.

Breaking new ground and cultivating value

Also, a talk was given on PMS: Is my cycle normal?which provided information about premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and advances in new research on the subject.

"By being informed about PMDD and its symptoms, women can identify it and seek appropriate support, whether through lifestyle changes, therapy or medication as needed. By speaking openly, we help break down stigmas and foster greater understanding and empathy for women's experiences," shared the SAUP president.

At the Conversation Joining Voiceswomen in various fields of work shared their personal experiences related to educational achievement, support received, difficulties encountered and opportunities present in their respective sectors.

"These women had experience from the financial sector, to artificial intelligence, as public servants, entrepreneurs and social activists. They all talked about the power of believing in yourself and being the first person to fight for your dreams and that through dedication and perseverance you forged your career. They also agreed on cultivating the value of ourselves and our work to transmit it in all areas of life," said Fernanda Hernandez, who also moderated the meeting.

Working together for a better future

Women on the Rise served to convey a message of hope and empowerment to the student community at Universidad Panamericana. The diversity of topics addressed, along with the plurality of perspectives presented, promoted reflection, collaboration and dialogue among students, professors and experts, highlighting the importance of working together for a better future.
