Materials and waste
Sustainable materials and waste management on campus includes several initiatives:
- 100% of the toilet paper and hand towels meet sustainability criteria.
- There has been a gradual migration from mercury-based luminaires to LED technology to reduce the use of toxic materials.
- Containers are implemented to separate organic and inorganic waste, allowing the collection company to perform a detailed separation to recycle materials such as PET, paper, cardboard, glass and aluminum.
- Forestry waste is composted, while hazardous waste is collected and treated by specialized services.
- The reuse and recycling of materials generated during building maintenance, remodeling and construction activities is promoted.
