GEA The Green Project

GEA The Green Project is an academic student group at Universidad Panamericana committed to promoting sustainable practices.

Its mission is to promote sustainable living among the university community, with the vision of making the university the most sustainable in the country. They have carried out a series of projects and activities to raise awareness about environmental care and promote sustainability.

Reforestations and awareness campaigns such as "Use your thermos" and "UP without disposables".

A partnership with local establishments to encourage the use of thermoses and tuppers.

The importance of companies and individuals following environmental laws and playing a more sustainable role in events such as Earth Day and Earth Week to raise awareness about caring for the planet was highlighted.

It seeks to promote the exchange of second-hand garments and "Leave no trace, leave ECO" to highlight environmental initiatives of large corporations.

Events to promote green practices and sustainable businesses, where students were encouraged to donate PET bottles. At Green Market, the UP community was allowed to register their own eco-friendly items or businesses.

Implementation of energy saving campaigns and migration of offices to sustainable workspaces.

Development of orchards 4.0, including the first vertical orchard in Mexico, to investigate water savings, vegetable cultivation and the application of food technology.
