Aguascalientes, Ags. February 15, 2023.- The School of Architecture of our campus in Aguascalientes, Ags.Universidad Panamericana campus Aguascalientes is carrying out an original urban project with a high social impact, the UP Safe Project.

University Security

This project consists of studying the conditions of the neighborhood in which the university is located in order to understand its relationship with the community and, together with the neighbors, achieve a beautiful, safe and comfortable urbanization.

The initiative was presented to the municipal authorities and Movilidad del Estado de Aguascalientes presented a previous study detecting some problems. School of Architecture formed a working group of students and academics to address the University Safety project through the application of a methodology of analysis and inclusion that will allow the participation of the neighbors involved.

Social Impact

The neighborhood currently has two hotels, two residential lots, commercial areas that include an Oxxo and a Guadalajara Pharmacy, as well as traffic areas and a bridge that links the Villa Sur subdivision by passing over the railroad tracks where cars with Nissan, Renault and Mercedes Benz cars travel to the United States of America.

"Because the area is still under development, it is necessary to improve a series of circumstances that affect the circulation and safety of the inhabitants. A group of students from the university's School of Architecture will be dedicated to improving these aspects , and in addition to proposing improvements to the problems detected, they will also seek to dignify the area in order to improve its visual appearance," says Luis Arturo Mendez Alba, director of the School of Architecture.
