Originally from Mexico City, he holds a law degree, a master's degree in legal sciences, and a doctorate in law, with honors, from the Faculty of Law at
the Universidad Panamericana.
o He worked for seven years at the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, where he was
secretary of study and account. He then moved on to work in the academic field
. For more than a decade, he has been a professor and researcher at the Universidad
Panamericana campus in Mexico City, and he is also a visiting professor at other universities
in the country.
o At the Universidad Panamericana, he has held the position of academic secretary and director of the
postgraduate program in law, and he is currently the research secretary of the Faculty of
Law.
o He is a Level II National Researcher in the National System of Researchers of the
CONACYT.
o He is the author of various articles in specialized journals, several book chapters, and
seven books:
—Teoría del Proceso (Theory of Process),
—La jurisprudencia del Poder Judicial de la Federación (The Jurisprudence of the Federal Judiciary),
—La igualdad y la desigualdad jurídicas (Legal Equality and Inequality),
—El derecho a la educación en México (The Right to Education in Mexico),
—Análisis formal de las reformas constitucionales (Formal Analysis of Constitutional Reforms),
—Conflicts between constitutional bodies and the Federal Judiciary, and
—Reforms to the 1917 Constitution.
He has also co-authored two books and is a columnist for El Universal.
He is the section editor of the journal Cuestiones Constitucionales, a member of the editorial committee of the journal Ratio Decidendi, and a member of the scientific committees of the journals Tohil
(from the Autonomous University of Yucatán) and the Yearbook of the Faculty of Law of the University of Extremadura
. He is also a member of the Council of the Institute of International Legal Studies (
) at the Rey Juan Carlos University in Spain.
He is a member of the Ibero-American Institute of Constitutional Law (Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho Constitucional) and the International Society of Public Law (
).
