Julio C. Rosas-Caro holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Ciudad Madero. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cinvestav at the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) in 2009. He is a professor at the Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara (Mexico). He has been a visiting scholar at Michigan State University, the University of Colorado, Ontario Tech, and the University of Sheffield. He has published 70 articles in JCR-indexed journals and has 2,200 citations on Google Scholar. He is an associate/academic editor for the journals (i) IEEE Latin America Transactions, and (ii) International Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems. He has been invited to edit special issues of journals such as IET Power Electronics and Mathematics. His research interests include power electronics, DC-DC converters, AC-AC converters, FACTS devices, their applications, and numerical optimization. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a member of the IET, Sigma Xi, and the National System of Researchers of Mexico.
