Zapopan, Jalisco; February 14, 2023. - The Law School of the Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara held the 8th Conference on International Arbitration and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) at its facilities.
Conference on International Arbitration
The objective of this program was to present the current challenges facing international transactions as well as the resolution of different issues that affect them; from how to achieve global trade and a more sustainable arbitration practice, to Covid-19 and the war that is currently shaking the world.
The conference was held in a hybrid manner, so some attendees participated in person, inside the Panamericana facilities, while others watched the event online through the UP ZOOM platform.

This event was attended by international experts in this field such as: Ingeborg Schwenzer, Sofía Gómez Ruano, Erick Clavel, Crina Baltag, Frida Altamirano; André Janssen, Rodrigo Momberg, Renata C. Stainer, Cesar Pereira, Louise Barrington, Ann Ryan Robertson, Orlando Cabrera, Anthony Daimsi, Paola Aldrete Rivas, Edgardo Muñoz and the Former Ambassador of the United States of America in New Zealand, David Huebner.
Panels
The conference was divided into three panels. The first panel was entitled "Arbitration: Is "back to the basics" the solution to achieve a more sustainable practice?". The second panel discussed the sustainable standards incorporated into the contract and determining their proper enforcement under the title " and the third panel concluded with the topic of war, COVID-19 and other trade disruptors.
Closing
At the end of the panel stage, there was a question and answer section, from which some conclusions were drawn on the topics mentioned above.
