Aguascalientes, Ags. February 20, 2023.- Dr. Claudia Sanchez, Research Secretary of the School of Engineering of our Panamerican University (UNAM), has been appointed as a member of the Research Department of the School of Engineering of the University of Aguascalientes. PanamericanaDr. Claudia Sanchez, secretary of the Faculty of Engineering of our Panamericana University, has excelled for her great work in the area of artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, computer vision, optimization and evolutionary algorithms.
Since she was a student of Computer Systems Engineering, she showed interest in the world of artificial intelligence and saw it as an opportunity to make the most of her potential. Subsequently, she decided to study for a Master's degree in Science with a specialization in Industrial Computation and Mathematics.

Since 2014, she joined as a professor and researcher at our Panamericana, where she has taught subjects for the career in Artificial Intelligence Engineering such as machine learning, optimization and evolutionary computation; during this period she completed her PhD in Data Science by INFOTEC Research Center.
"I really like teaching but also research and being here at the University, I have found that perfect combination. We have also had some projects with industry, we do things with outreach to make science reach children, adolescents and young people," says the doctor.
Vocation for research
Dr. Claudia Sanchez has worked in the area of machine learning, which is machine learning; she has published articles in MIT journals on a genetic programming algorithm, as well as optimization algorithms and mechanisms.
Another area in which he has worked continuously is in the School of Food Business Management, where he has joined efforts to apply artificial intelligence in the food industry. In this regard, they recently published a paper on a recommender system for home delivery service applications.
On the other hand, studies have been made in the measurement of product quality, for example, in red meat, where by taking photographs and computer vision techniques, analyze whether the meat is in good condition for optimal consumption.
Artificial Intelligence
Dr. Claudia Sanchez believes that the area of artificial intelligence is a very important topic that young people should keep in mind for the benefit of society and that they can contribute their bit, especially in our country.
"The fact of contributing with some improvement, some new system or some application of what is already in the industry, makes it applicable locally, since sometimes we consume applications or tools that are generated in other places, but I think that as Mexicans and in Aguascalientes it is good to apply it here so that industries have it at hand and that the algorithms and systems work with the data here," he points out.
