Mexico City, April 24, 2026.—As part of their commitment to academic excellence and international outreach, students from prepaUP at the Universidad Panamericana in the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), where they presented research on the structural barriers that women and girls face in accessing justice.
The delegation, consisting of Ana Cecilia and Miranda—senior students at prepaUP—and Yovanna, a student at the Universidad Panamericana, presented the project Breaking the Cycle of Violence: Addressing the Structural Barriers That Deny Women and Girls Equitable Access to Justice at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Women's Leadership and Critical Thinking in a Global Context
Ana Cecilia, a prospective undergraduate student in philosophy, emphasized that the education she received at prepaUP was key to developing her analytical and leadership skills.
“It was rewarding to see how our research resonated with people from all over the world; we feel that we have planted a seed of change with a human perspective on the global stage,”he said.
For her part, Yovanna emphasized that representing the Universidad Panamericana the UN reflects the institution’s commitment to training agents of change.
“We had the opportunity to participate in panel discussions, and thanks to our comprehensive training, we conducted outstanding research on the structural barriers we face,” she emphasized.

Miranda, a prospective law student at the Universidad Panamericana, highlighted the importance of these initiatives in fostering social engagement among the younger generations.
“The ideas and arguments presented by the prepaUP shared a common goal: to find solutions to the challenges we face as women in society, ”she said.

International experience and connections with global leaders
During its participation in the CSW, the delegation held meetings with international leaders such as Gabriele Giordano Caccia, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, and Guy Ryder, UN Under-Secretary-General for Policy, which strengthened its global perspective and commitment to the common good.

Comprehensive education with a global impact
Dr. María José García, director of the all-girls prepaUP, emphasized the importance of these kinds of experiences in students' education.
“In a polarized world, it is essential to promote diversity of thought and dialogue. International exposure fosters critical thinking and enables the development of innovative solutions to global challenges,” he said.

The experience at the CSW in New York demonstrated that the leadership of the Universidad Panamericana and prepaUP extends beyond the classroom to turn students into a real driving force for social change.
