Mexico City, April 14, 2026.— The women's prepaUP team from the Universidad Panamericana held the 2023–2026 Class Awards and Excellence Scholarships Ceremony, an event that highlighted not only the academic performance of its students but also their well-rounded education based on values, leadership, and personal well-being.
Accompanied by their families and teachers, the students experienced a meaningful moment that marked the conclusion of a key stage in their academic and personal development. Beyond recognizing outstanding academic achievements, the ceremony invited everyone to reflect on the true meaning of excellence in today’s world.
Comprehensive education to address the challenges of today's society
During the ceremony, Dr. María José García Castillejos, director general of prepaUP for girls, emphasized the importance of educating students who are capable of facing the challenges of what is known as the “society of fatigue,” a concept developed by the philosopher Byung-Chul Han.
In this regard, he emphasized that academic excellence at prepaUP is not limited to academic performance, but rather seeks to strike a balance between intellectual development and emotional well-being.
“True excellence should not isolate, but rather humanize. We shape brilliant minds with a human touch,” he said.
Academic excellence with purpose and leadership
The ceremony also featured the participation of Liliana Figueroa, Director of Public Relations at the Universidad Panamericana Mexico City Universidad Panamericana , who addressed the students about the importance of moving forward with determination, even in times of uncertainty.
He emphasized that academic excellence goes beyond visible achievements, highlighting the value of discipline, perseverance, and resilience as key elements in building a solid life plan.
“Today, we recognize a kind of excellence that goes beyond simply boasting about achievements: it is quiet excellence, built on discipline, perseverance, and the determination to try again when no one is watching,” he said.
This is the true life journey we are fostering: one that is shaped every day by small decisions, allowing each student to forge a path that is truly her own.
A tribute to talent and dedication
As part of the closing ceremony, the Universidad Panamericana educational model— Universidad Panamericana in Christian humanism—was highlighted, as it promotes values such as generosity, trust, and autonomy. This approach encourages students to understand that academic success is not an individual achievement, but rather an opportunity to make a positive impact on their community.
