In 1979 he joined the university's men's basketball team. He currently participates in the first division conference of the Student Basketball Association (ABE) as well as in the national tournament of the National Council for Sports in Education (CONDDE).

The team represents our university in local and national championships. At the national level it participates every year in tournaments organised by CUTELMEX (CONADEIP) and CONDDE. This team has won 6 CONADEIP national championships (1994, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2017, 2018) and 1 National Universiada championship organised by CONDDE (2016).

The team was formed in 1979. It participates in CONADEIP (private institutions) and CONDDE (public and private institutions) tournaments. Over the years the Soccer team has maintained a good participation in the first division of CONADEIP and CONDDE.

This team has won 1 national championship, the Corona Cup, in 1999. It also won third place in the 2017 National Universiade organised by CONDDE.

The members of the tennis team represent us individually (singles), in doubles, and as a team in the National University Tennis Circuit (CNTU) organised by CONADEIP and also in CONDDE.Our tennis players have won multiple championships in the different modalities in which they have participated, the most important being the CONADEIP National Team Championship obtained in 2018.

The members of the golf team represent us individually and as a team in the National Golf Tour organised by CONADEIP.

One of the pioneer teams of the institution since its beginnings as Bonaterra in the 90s. It has reached the finals of national CONADEIP and CONDDE tournaments on multiple occasions. It currently participates in the Student Basketball Association (ABE) as well as in CONDDE. It has had students with participation in World Universiades (2003, 2005, 2007).

The team represents the university at the local and national level. With a high trajectory, the team participates in CUTELMEX (CONADEIP) and CONDDE competitions. In relation to CONADEIP, it has obtained 4 national championships (2005,2008,2013,2014) and two championships in the National Universiadas by CONDDE (2008,2013). It is to date, the only team to be since 2012 among the top 4 in CONADEIP consecutively. It has had students participating in World Universiades (2009,2013,2015,2017), winning the bronze medal in the 2017 edition.

With more than 60 medals at the national level, this sport is one of the emblems of the institution since its creation. It currently competes at the CONADEIP and CONDDE levels, having had, among other things, students participate in the World Universiade (2005 and 2007).

The members of the tennis team represent us individually (singles), in doubles, and as a team in the National University Tennis Circuit (CNTU) organized by CONADEIP and also in CONDDE. It is led by Rodrigo Herrera Alvarez, former coach of Spanish tennis player Roberto Bautista Agut (former top 10 in the world).

This sport was born in 2015 by the hand of Rodolfo Gonzalez. To date, archery has grown in such a way that gold medals have been obtained in National Universiades by CONDDE in 2017 and 2019. Likewise, a bronze medal has been obtained for Mexico in the 2019 World Universiade and the first participation in the Pan American Games in Lima 2019. In October 2021, UP hosted the first archery event exclusively for universities by CONDDE, with more than 85 archers of national and international stature.

Driven by students, this sport has had a very strong rise over the years. The members of both groups (women's and men's) represent the institution in CONADEIP and CONDDE tournaments. In both tournaments, they have been able to reach the national championships. Likewise, the University participates in federated tournaments with the projection that our students will be scouted to be part of the Mexican Tocho Bandera National Team.

The triathlon project at UP was born in August 2021 from the need to support the promotion of a sport of high national and international projection, where there are young people with great sporting talent who lacked the opportunity to study in a prestigious academic institution. Currently, we have national and foreign triathletes who participate in local, national and international competitions.
