Dr. Julieta Domínguez Soberanes holds a degree in Food Engineering, a master’s degree in Biotechnology, and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, which she earned with the distinction of summa cum laude. She furthered her education through the Senior Management Program for Agri-Food Companies (IPADE-ADEA) at the Pan American Institute for Senior Business Management. She currently serves as a Research Professor at the National Autonomous University of Aguascalientes ( Universidad Panamericana), Aguascalientes campus, and is a Level 2 member of the National System of Researchers (SNI).
She has led and collaborated on numerous research projects with both national and international funding. At the national level, she has received inter-institutional funding such as the Research Promotion Fund and support from CONACyT’s innovation programs, such as INNOVAPYME. Internationally, she has notably participated in the 100K Strong in the Americas program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and Partners of the Americas, in collaboration with the Gruma Foundation, Banorte, and Amazon, with projects approved in the 2022 and 2025 calls for proposals.
She has also collaborated with Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) through the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) on outreach and development projects with an impact in Jamaica, implemented in 2022 and 2024–2025. She has established academic ties with the University of La Sabana in Colombia, where she has served as a visiting professor during summer programs.
At the European level, he has actively contributed to projects funded by the European Commission through the COST program. He participates in two thematic networks: PIMENTO (fermentedfoods.eu), in which he serves as co-leader, and NEXUSNET (nexusnet-cost.com).
Dr. Domínguez Soberanes plays an active role in academic, scientific, and leadership organizations. She currently serves as chair of the IEEE Aguascalientes Section (2023–2025) and as a member of the international council of IEEE Region 9. In addition, she is Vice President of Mujeres Empresarias del Maguey in Aguascalientes (2024–2026), Academic Coordinator, and Coordinator of Women in Science for the Mexico Section of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) for the 2025–2027 term. She is a member of the Technical Committee of the Mexican Institute of Swine Science. Additionally, she has been appointed director of the Rotary Foundation of CREA Aguascalientes for the 2026–2027 term. She served on the national 50+1 agri-food commission in the sustainability section and is an advisor to the Aguascalientes State Institute of Science and Technology. She leads the agri-food working group at the Universidad Panamericana, fostering connections with the private sector, government, and academia. She is also the leader of the agri-food working group at CINOV (Center for Technological Innovation).
In the academic sphere, she has published articles in prestigious scientific journals such as *Foods*, *Journal of Food Biochemistry*, *Journal of Texture Studies*, *Phyton*, *Acta Horticulturae*, and *Revista de Ingeniería Química*, which have been widely cited internationally. She has also contributed three book chapters, technical translations, and more than 60 presentations at national and international conferences. She has been a guest speaker in Mexico and Colombia. She serves as a manuscript reviewer for indexed journals and as a reviewer for international projects. Since 2022, she has served as an associate editor for the Journal of Food Measurement and Characterization (Elsevier).
