The UP and BBVA strengthen their alliance with the Talent and Innovation Forum

Mexico City, September 1, 2025.— The Universidad Panamericana BBVA Mexico strengthened their strategic partnership by hosting the BBVA-UP Talent and Innovation Forum, an event that brought together business leaders, academics, and students to discuss the role of young talent in the digital transformation of the financial system.

The event, held in Ciudad Panamericana on August 26, centered on a keynote address by Hugo Nájera, head of Retail Banking at BBVA Mexico, who shared his vision on how to transform a traditional industry into a global model of innovation.

The event was attended by Cecilia Canal Garrido, M.A., Vice Rector of the Mexico City Campus; Adriana Fernández Gutiérrez, B. A ., Assistant Director of Institutional Development; Ana Cecilia González Fernández, B.A., from the Career Services department; Catalina Navarro Fierro, B.A., representative of the Institutional Development Office at Ciudad Panamericana; as well as directors, deans, and students from our university community.

Representing BBVA Mexico were Luis Miguel Sánchez, Director of Strategy and Innovation for Retail Banking; Mónica Real Cantú, Director of Talent Acquisition and Mobility; and Ana Gabriela Rodríguez Castañeda, Talent Acquisition Strategy Lead. 

The vision of a leader with three decades of experience

With over 30 years of experience at BBVA, Hugo Nájera shared his perspective with the audience on the digital transformation that is revolutionizing the financial system. 

During his presentation, he highlighted the profound impact of technology on banking services and emphasized the crucial importance of training professionals capable of responding with agility and creativity to a constantly evolving global environment.

“The future of the financial system will depend on talent capable of adapting and leading in an environment of constant innovation and change,” said the executive, who previously served as Chief Innovation Officer of the BBVA Group in Spain.

He added: “Young talent is the force that will transform the future; that is why we create spaces where innovation and leadership become drivers of change.”

Following the lecture, anexclusive networking session was held, where outstanding students from the Panamericana University had the opportunity to interact directly and personally with Hugo, as well as with other university officials and BBVA executives. This event fostered an open dialogue and helped build bridges toward future professional opportunities.

This forum marks a major milestone in strengthening the Panamericana University’s ties with the financial and business sectors.
